My Story

Website About.jpg

You don’t know what you don’t know…this can make it incredibly hard to find a way forward or even hope to believe there is another destination ahead worth trying for…

Growing up with parents of Native American and European descent, I have experienced a great deal of diversity and change. Addiction and substance abuse have been in my family for many years. I am now a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor and have worked with people struggling with addictions for 25 years.

I myself have made many choices which turned out to be short-sighted missteps, but can now share my story…I have a wife, kids and grandkids who I am humbled to say, love me and on more days than not, they like me. I know long stories can accommodate most of life’s unfortunate seasons. Long ago I invited people into my life, took their wisdom and chose to keep putting one foot in front of the other.

My experience has been within the judicial system/Board of Pardons and Paroles, psychiatric hospitals, wilderness treatment programs, therapeutic boarding schools, treatment facilities and private practice.

With all that said, there is always a heart cry from the person using and their family for help and for things to be different. There is always hope. There is always a way forward.
